Group Chairman
Mr
Brij Mohan Lall Munjal is the Chairman of the US$ 2.2
billion Hero Group. Born in 1923, in what is now Pakistan, Mr
Lall is a first generation business entrepreneur of the 1950s'.
After partition, the Munjal brothers started a small business
of manufacturing bicycle components in Ludhiana in North India
in the face of the bottlenecks of industrial infrastructure
and investments.
Mr. Lall has enriched the Hero Group with his vision of sound
business governance and value driven management practices.His
foresight has made the Hero Group a leader in its business.
The Group companies have been honored with the best industrial
governance and safety awards.
Mr Lall is actively involved in the promotion of the Indian
Industry. He is the past president of CII, SIAM and a member
of the Regional Board of the Reserve Bank of India. He is Honorary
Fellow of the Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering. He
was adjudged as Businessman of the year in 1994 by a leading
business magazine - Business India. XLRI, a premier institution
has conferred on him the honor of Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal
for Industrial Peace in 2000.
Mr. Sunil Kant
Munjal, the second generation entrepreneur of the Munjal family is a senior member of the Hero Group. Mr Sunil Kant
Munjal, is the Managing Director & CEO of Hero Cycles Ltd. (C.R.Division) and Hero Corporate Service Limited, the services business arm of the Hero Group. In addition he also holds the responsibility as a Director of a number of companies in the
US$ 2.2 Billion Hero Group which consists of Hero Cycles Ltd., Hero Honda Motors Ltd., Munjal Showa Ltd., Sunbeam Auto Ltd., Majestic Auto Ltd., Munjal Auto Industries Ltd., Hero Management Service Limited, Easy Bill Ltd., etc. Apart from Hero Group companies, he is also on the Board of DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd., PNB Gilts Limited and Member of Coca Cola India – Advisory Board. He has also been a Director of Bank of India (one of the largest banks in the country). Mr. Munjal is
the President
of Confederation of Indian Industry
(CII), which is India’s premier business association. Mr Munjal is a visiting faculty for lectures in business studies and holistic management practices at a number of companies and business schools. He is also on the Board of Indian School of Business,
Hyderabad.
Mr. Munjal has also made significant contributions to some of the National level Economic and Labour reforms in India by either chairing some of the reforms committees or as a member.
